What is a Blog?
In simple terms, a blog is a web site where you can write and post on an ongoing basis. New entries show up at the top, so your visitors can read what's new. If you chose, they can comment on it or link to it or email you.
Since Blogs were launched in 1999, they have reshaped the web, impacted politics, shaken up journalism, and enabled millions of people to have a voice and connect with others. A blog gives you your own voice on the web. It's a place to collect and distribute information.
Many people use a blog just to organize their own thoughts, while others command influential, worldwide audiences of hundred of thousands. Unionists like yourselves are using blogs to educate, organize, mobilize, and link with others in a variety of progressive campaigns.
Blogging is about more than just putting your thoughts on the web. It's about connecting with and hearing from anyone who reads your work and cares to respond. You control who can read and write to your blog. A blog is an excellent communication tool for mobilizing others around issues. Blogs let you find people that share your interests and goals.
At the bottom of this page you will find links to several web resources containing current news articles, images, videos, research, and links to organizations engaged in progressive politics. Many of these sites are rich sources of information that contain links with even more resources.
